Marriage License
Throughout California regulations governing marriage licenses remain consistent;
Non Confidential (Standard) License:
Valid for 90 days.
The couple can be married anywhere in California.
A blood test is not required.
The couple does not need to be resident in California.
A witness is required for the ceremony.
The license is public record.
NOTE: The County Clerk’s office strongly advises that a non-confidential license be issued except in those instances where the confidentiality of the marriage is vitally important. Couples who choose the Confidential License should be aware that when certified copies of the Confidential Marriage License are requested, the copies can ONLY be issued to the couple.
