Bar/Bat Mitzvahs

The Bar or Bat Mitzvah of your son or daughter will be a magnificent day, filled with spirituality, joy and happiness.

The Bar Mitzvah of your son or Bat Mitzvah of your daughter will be a magnificent day, filled with spirituality, joy and happiness. It marks the point at which they become an adult and thereby assume spiritual responsibility for their actions.

Rabbi Ian AdlerThe Pacific Synagogue gives you an exceedingly flexible approach to your Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Starting with four simple choices; First, you may choose your own tutor. Second, you may ask us for a tutor recommendation. Third, you may want me to tutor. Fourth, you can avoid tutors completely with our online guide. Whatever path you choose, the goal is to create for your son/daughter a ceremony at your chosen venue which honors tradition from a contemporary perspective.

When you book me you get more than just that fella in the picture on the right. Of course I’m going to wear a suit, tie, tallit and kippah. During the service I add explanations, interactions and guidance so that your family and guests can fully enjoy, appreciate and understand everything.¬†There will be a tidbits of humor added throughout, but if you prefer a conventional style service, I can do that.

From a customized master service PDF siddur to a full size Torah and many other elements, you can choose what you want. Talia, at the Synagogue, can normally put you in contact with all things Bar/Bat Mitzvah, and although she has yet to find a reliable source for unicorns she does have access to tremendously gifted Cantoral Soloists.
